LATAM Statement Related to Request for Extension of Exclusivity Period
October 14, 2021

Santiago (Chile), October 14, 2021 - The LATAM Group informs that, within the context of the Chapter 11 proceeding, which it voluntarily initiated in May 2020, it has requested that the Court for the Southern District of New York extend the period during which LATAM has the exclusive right to present its plan of reorganization through November 26. This request supports the advancement of negotiations with the various interested parties in the Chapter 11 proceeding.

Currently, the period of exclusivity to file its reorganization plan is currently set through October 15. As previously reported, the extension request is a common alternative considered within the process.

It should be noted that LATAM Airlines Group and its affiliates in Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, the United States, Peru, and Brazil filed for voluntary protection under the U.S. Chapter 11 financial reorganization statute, after the serious consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic. Through this process, LATAM and said affiliates will have the opportunity to rightsize their operations to the new demand environment and reorganize their balance sheets, enabling them to emerge more agile, resilient and sustainable in the new, post-pandemic era.
