Management Team

Mr. Enrique Cueto Plaza, is LATAM Airlines Group’s Chief Executive Officer (“CEO”). From 1994 to 2012, Mr. Cueto was the CEO of LAN. From 1983 to 1993, Mr. Cueto was Chief Executive Officer of Fast Air, a Chilean Cargo airline. Mr. Cueto also served on the LAN board of directors from 1993 to 1994. Mr. Cueto has in-depth knowledge of passenger and cargo airline management, both in commercial and operational aspects, gained during his 24 years in the airline industry. Mr. Cueto is an active member of the oneworld® Alliance Governing Board, the IATA (International Air Transport Association) Board of Governors. He is also member of the Board of the Federation of Chilean Industry (SOFOFA) and of the Board of the Endeavor foundation, an organization dedicated to the promotion of entrepreneurship in Chile. Mr. Cueto is the brother of Mers. Juan José and Ignacio Cueto Plaza, member of the board and LAN CEO, respectively. Mr. Cueto is also a member of the Cueto Group (LATAM Airlines Group’s Controlling Shareholder).

Mr. Ignacio Cueto Plaza, is LAN’s CEO. Mr. Cueto served as President of LAN Cargo from 1995 to 1998, as Chief Executive Officer-Passenger Business from 1999 to 2005, and as President and Chief Operating Officer of LAN since 2005 until the merger with TAM in 2012. Mr. Cueto has previously served on the board of directors of LAN (from 1995 to 1997) and Ladeco (from 1994 to 1997). In addition, Mr. Cueto served as Chief Executive Officer of Fast Air from 1993 to 1995. Between 1985 and 1993, Mr. Cueto held several positions at Fast Air, including Service Manager for the Miami sales office, Director of Sales for Chile and Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Mr. Cueto is the brother of Messrs. Juan José and Enrique Cueto Plaza, Director and LATAM’s CEO, respectively. Mr. Cueto is also a member of the Cueto Group (which is a controlling shareholder of LATAM).
Mrs Claudia Sender has been in this position since January 2012. She is a Chemical Engineer graduate of the Polytechnic School of the Sao Paulo University and MBA of Harvard Business School. Prior to joining LATAM Airlines, she developed an extensive career in Whirlpool in the marketing area, and as a consultant at Bain & Company.
Mr. Armando Valdivieso Montes has been Chief Executive Officer for passengers at LAN Airlines since 2006, after serving as Chief Executive Officer for cargo from 1997 to 2005. From 1995 to 1997, he was Chief Operating Officer of Fast Air and, from 1991 to 1994, served as Fast Air’s Vice-President in the United States, based in Miami. Mr. Valdivieso is a civil engineer and holds an Executive MBA from Harvard University.
Mr. Cristián Ureta Larraín has been Chief Executive Officer for cargo at LATAM Airlines. He is an engineering graduate of the Catholic University in Santiago and of Stanford University’s Special Executive Program. Between 2002 and 2005, he served as Vice-President for production at LAN Cargo and, from 1998 to 2002 as its Vice-President for Planning and Development. He was previously General Director and Commercial Director at MAS Air and service manager at Fast Air.
Mr. Roberto Alvo Milosawlewitsch is Vice-President for Strategic Planning and Development at LATAM Airlines, a post he has held since 2008. Mr Alvo joined LAN Airlines in November 2001. Prior to his current position, he served as Chief Financial Officer of LAN Argentina from 2005 to 2008, as Manager of Development and Financial Planning at LAN Airlines, and as Deputy Chief Financial Officer of LAN Airlines. Before 2001, Mr. Alvo held various positions at SociedadQuímica y Minera de Chile S.A., a leading Chilean non-metallic mining company. He is a civil engineer and obtained an MBA from the IMD in Lausanne, Switzerland.
Jerome Cadier has been LATAM Airlines Group’s Chief Marketing Officer since March 2013. He had previously worked since 2003 at Whirlpool Home Appliances in Brazil where he served as national sales manager and Vice-President of Marketing. During this period, he also served for two years as President of Whirlpool in Australia and New Zealand. Between 1995 and 2002, Mr. Cadier was a consultant at McKinsey & Company in Brazil. He studied industrial engineering at the Polytechnic School of the University of São Paulo (1994) and holds a master’s degree from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management (1999).
Mr. Enrique Elsaca Hirmas has been the Senior Vice President for Spanish Speaking Countries (SCC) at LATAM Airlines since October 2015. Mr. Elsaca joined LAN Airlines in 2004, as Vice-President of Planning. Then, in 2008, he assumed the Vice Presidency of Operations and Services in LAN. In 2012 Mr. Elsaca became Chief Executive of LAN in Chile. Prior to joining the company, Mr. Elsaca worked in Santa Isabel- Cencosud (2000-2004), a Chilean retail company. Between 1997 and 1999, he served as strategic consulting in Booz, Allen & Hamilton, and between 1991 and 1995, he worked in Esso Chile. Mr. Elsaca is a Civil engineer from Catholic University of Chile and obtained an MBA from the MTI Sloan School of Management (1997).
Mr. Juan Carlos Mencio has been the Senior Vice President Legal Affairs and Compliance for LATAM Airlines Group since September 1, 2014. He had previously held the position of General Counsel for North America for LATAM Airlines Group and its related companies, as well as General Counsel for its worldwide Cargo Operations, both since 1998. Prior to joining LAN, he was in private practice in New York and Florida representing various international airlines. He obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in International Finance and Marketing from the School of Business at the University of Miami and his Juris Doctor Degree from Loyola University.
Mr. Hernan Pasman has been the Chief Operating Officer of Latam airlines group since October, 2015. He joined LAN Airlines in 2005 as a head of strategic planning and financial analysis of the technical areas. Between 2007 and 2010, Mr. Pasman was the Chief operating officer of LAN Argentina, then, in 2011 he served as Chief Executive Officer for LAN Colombia. Prior to joining the company, between 2001 and 2005, Mr. Pasman was a consultant at McKinsey & Company in Chicago. Between 1995 and 2001, Hernan held positions at Citicorp Equity Investments, Telephonic de Argentina and Argentina Motorola. Mr. Pasman is a Civil engineer from ITBA (1995) and obtained an MBA from Kellogg Graduate School of Management (2001).
Mr. Emilio del Real Sota has been Vice-President for Human Resources at LATAM Airlines since August 2005. He holds a psychology degree from the Gabriela Mistral University in Santiago. Between 2003 and 2005, he served as manager for human resources at D&S, a Chilean retail company. Between 1997 and 2003, he held various posts at Unilever, including Human Resource Manager for Lever Chile as well as Training and Recruitment Manager and Executive Development Manager for Latin America.
Mr. Ramiro Alfonsín has been LATAM Airlines Group’s Chief Financial Officer since July 2016. Mr. Alfonsín worked for the utility company Endesa in Spain, Italy and Chile for the past 16 years. Having previously served as Deputy Director of Planning and Investment in Europe and Regional Director of Planning and Control at Enersis, he assumed the role of Deputy Managing Director and Director of Finance of Endesa Chile in 2013. Mr. Alfonsín holds a degree in business administration from the Universidad Católica de Argentina.
Mr. Federico Germani has been Services and Innovation Senior Vice President since November 2015. Mr Germani joined Lan Cargo Airlines in 2004, as Vice President of Planning. In 2005 became Chief Operating Officer for Lan Cargo based in Miami, USA. Then in July 2011 Mr. Germani served as Head of the Integration Management Office for the association between Lan Airlines and Tam Airlines based in Sao Paulo Brasil. Previous to LATAM, Mr. Germani held various positions at IBM, McKinsey & Co. and Goldman Sachs. Mr. Germani holds an Industrial Engineering degree from ITBA (2001) and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management in Chicago, USA (1998).
